A peaceful and safe place, imbued with gentle human warmth
Who We Are
La Maison Aube-Lumière is a non-profit organization, active in the Eastern Townships since 1997. Located on the CHUS-Fleurimont campus, surrounded by trees and flowers, it provides its cancer patients with a most peaceful and warm end-of-life environment.
The current Maison, custom-built in 2013, offers 12 spacious rooms with large windows giving a view and access to our magnificent gardens.
With its annual operating budget subsidized up to 50% by the Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services, it maintains free care and services thanks to donations from the community and its fundraising activities, which generate nearly $1.5 million per year.
Very well-known and renowned in the Sherbrooke region, La Maison Aube-Lumière is proud of the warm welcome and the dignified support it generously offers to its patients.
To be the benchmark for excellence and diversity of services provided with the greatest of respect for the human values promoted by the philosophy of end-of-life palliative care.
- Welcome persons with cancer in an advanced stage and provide them with high-quality palliative care, FREE OF CHARGE;
- Accompany them and their loved ones, responding to their psychosocial and spiritual needs;
- Contribute to the advancement of palliative care education.
At all times, maintain relationships based on respect and consideration at all times, whether in words, behaviour or actions.
Be open to the emotions and feelings of others so as to better receive them without judgment, without taking their feelings upon ourselves.
Constantly seek to surpass ourselves and aim for perfection in order to offer optimal quality care and support.
Maintain a spirit of openness and self-giving that promotes mutual aid and kindness to each other.
Be exemplary in our conduct, be loyal to the organisation, and commit ourselves each day to transforming our mission into reality.
