Patient Care Attendants

We are actively looking for PATIENT CARE ATTENDANTS

(occasional part-time, OPT/TPO)

Main Duties

Under the authority of the director of nursing and in collaboration with the nurse, the care attendant ensures the delivery of care aimed at the safety and comfort of the patients of La Maison Aube-Lumière. The attendant helps the patient with their activities of daily living: hygiene care, clothing, getting up, going to bed, transfers, moving around.

Requirements and Working Conditions

Level of education : Secondary school vocational diploma with a specialization in health services

Diverse Conditions : The number of hours is not fixed. On-call position for last-minute replacements, vacations or short, medium or long-term sick leave. Experience in palliative care is an asset.

Languages required : French; English is an asset.

Salary offered: corresponds to the salary offered in the public health network and according to experience.

Number of hours per week : Casual Part Time (CPT/TPO)

Employment status : casual or temporary

Duration of employment : iindefinite

Clarifications : on call, according to scheduling needs

Description of Skills : Knowledge of palliative care philosophy and ability to put it into practice. Ability to work on a team, including with volunteers. Possess rigour and a sense of responsibility. Be respectful at all times with everyone involved. Have good communication skills. Have empathy. Be generous with your time.

Recognized professional qualification outside the school or university network : Valid certificate in Placement et déplacement sécuritaire des bénéficiaires / Moving Patients Safety Principles (PDSB/MPSP).
